Stevens Institute of Technology, which earned unwanted attention last spring when its venue for graduation could not meet the need of graduates and their families, announced it will hold its 2024 ceremony at PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel.
The ceremony, the 152nd commencement exercises at the school, will be held on May 22, 2024 — with the following day serving as the severe weather date.
After thorough discussions with students, parents, staff and faculty, Stevens officials said they determined the PNC Bank Arts Center, in addition to being a beautiful outdoor performance space, is a venue that best matched the school community’s needs — as it offers ample seating and parking to accommodate everyone.
There will be two ceremonies on the big day — a morning ceremony for all undergraduate candidates and an afternoon ceremony for all graduate candidates. Names of candidates from Summer 2023, Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 will be announced at the appropriate ceremony.
Stevens officials caution that they are in the final stages of confirming the contract with PNC Bank Arts Center — and that families should refrain from making nonrefundable final travel plans until further notice.
They are confident, however, that the site will serve as host.
