Sprouts Farmers Market inks 23K sq. ft. lease in West Deptford at site formerly held by ALDI

Sprouts Farmers Market will be coming to the Southwood Shopping Center, situated at 875 Mantua Pike, in West Deptford, according to a Tuesday announcement from South Jersey-based Vantage Commercial, which helped facilitate the transaction.

The premier natural grocery tenant will occupy a unit formerly held by ALDI after a local investment group tears down the old unit and delivers a newly built end cap. The investment group also plans to renovate the entire center, transforming it into a Class A retail mall.

Projected to encompass a generous 23,252 square feet, Sprouts’ new space will showcase a strong emphasis on innovation and emphasize the fresh, clean appeal that the natural grocer is known for. The tear-down and construction project will run in parallel with the overall remodeling of the shopping center.

Both the ownership group and Sprouts Farmers Market are elated to introduce the brand to West Deptford. This addition promises to delight the local community, catering to the increasing demand for natural grocery stores in the area.

Corinne Giletto, director of client services at Vantage Commercial, shared, “The residents in the area have been eagerly anticipating the arrival of an organic grocer for many years.”

Southwood Shopping Center came under the ownership of a South Jersey investment group during the challenging period of the COVID-19 pandemic. Giletto recognized the untapped potential of the shopping center and orchestrated an off-market deal for the new owners. Located on Route 45 in Gloucester County, the shopping center enjoys high visibility, serving multiple communities across various towns, including West Deptford, Harrison Township (Mullica Hill), Mantua, Pitman, Wenonah, Woodbury and Deptford. This strategic location played a pivotal role in Sprouts Farmers Market’s decision to invest in this thriving market.
