Terrapin Care Station, Hoboken’s 1st cannabis dispensary, is now open

Hoboken’s first medical cannabis dispensary, Terrapin Care Station, has officially opened its doors to medical marijuana patients as of last Friday.

“The Station” is the 14th dispensary in the Garden State to open exclusively to patients.

Located in the heart of Hoboken at 86 River and a less than a quarter-mile from the PATH train, the opening of the Station can benefit nearly 1,000 medical patients in the area with its 5,000-square-foot dispensary and create 45 jobs.

The Station’s founder, Joseph Castelo, cites a communitywide desire for clean, high-quality curated cannabis as the driving force behind bringing the first legal cannabis dispensary to Hoboken.

“Hoboken is a city of many firsts, and the Station will be a new first for Hoboken as we usher in destigmatization and cannabis legalization in the Garden State. I’m honored to be but a small part of bringing safe and exciting products to everyone in my hometown,” Castelo said.

Before founding the Station, Castelo was an indie filmmaker who leveraged his business acumen to build successful and thriving Hoboken businesses: Antique Bar & Bakery, the Antique Loft and Sweven, a members-only coworking space. He resides in the Mile Square City with his wife and writing partner, Ashley, and their two daughters.

The Station brings Hoboken a cannabis dispensary that offers patients a warm and welcoming staff and a truly singular cannabis retail experience.
