TD Bank appoints Hugh Allen as head of U.S. commercial real estate

TD Bank, with its U.S. headquarters in Cherry Hill, on Wednesday announced it appointed Hugh Allen as the head of U.S. commercial real estate.

Allen is a 30-year veteran of the banking industry and has been with TD Bank since 2014. Most recently, he served as regional president, Metro Mid-South for TD Bank, overseeing commercial, small business and retail banking in TD’s footprint from the Carolinas to Delaware. Allen will continue to support the Metro Mid-South market, working with local market leadership, while he transitions, as the bank selects his replacement.

“Hugh’s background is notable and spans across key areas of the commercial bank, making him a natural choice for this important position,” Chris Giamo, TD Bank’s head of commercial banking, said. “I’m excited for the future of our U.S. commercial real estate team under Hugh’s leadership, and know our clients will benefit from his industry knowledge and expert guidance.”

During Allen’s tenure with TD, he played a pivotal role in TD Bank’s expansion into the Charlotte market, establishing strong relationships in Charlotte and throughout North Carolina. His ongoing involvement in the region, through roles on the Research Triangle Foundation board and the NCWorks Commission, underscores his dedication to the community.

“I’m excited to lead our U.S. commercial real estate team during this pivotal time in the marketplace,” Allen said. “TD Bank has a strong history in commercial real estate and I’m committed to building on that foundation. Together, with our talented team, we will continue to serve our customers and strengthen our communities. I look forward to the journey ahead.”
