The New Jersey Hospital Association today announced the addition of Joy Lindo, Esq., to its senior leadership team as general counsel.
Lindo brings a wealth of expertise to the Association and its 400 members. She most recently served as director of the Office of Legal and Regulatory Compliance with the New Jersey Department of Health. She also has experience as a litigator and as a law clerk in the New Jersey Supreme Court and U.S. District Court. She started her career at Rutgers University, where her work focused on substance abuse treatment.
“Joy is a highly respected counsellor who has tremendous insight into the demands on our healthcare system,” NJHA President and CEO Cathy Bennett said. “That view is essential as our healthcare provider community faces a milieu of challenges, including chronic underpayment in government health programs, a historic workforce shortage, the impact of inflation and supply chain disruption and a growing demand for healthcare services as New Jersey ages and our communities face new health challenges.”
Lindo, of Ewing, earned her law degree from the Seton Hall University School of Law. She also earned master’s and bachelor’s degrees in psychology from Marist College.
Outside of work, she enjoys volunteering in the community with her certified therapy dog, Willow.
“NJHA’s mission is to improve the health of New Jerseyans, and I’ve been drawn to that worthy pursuit throughout my career,” Lindo said. “I look forward to working with the leadership team and our members to ensure that New Jersey residents will always have access to the quality care they deserve.”
