Freedom Bank hires Joseph Luppino as 1st VP/government banking and business development officer

Maywood-based Freedom Bank on Tuesday announced that Joseph Luppino has joined as first vice president/government banking and business development officer. In this role, Luppino will be directly responsible for expanding and maintaining business relationships with a focus on attracting new business, specifically with municipal and county governments.

Luppino previously worked at Kearny Bank as vice president of government banking and spent nearly three decades working with Bergen County, most recently as the chief financial officer. He managed Bergen County’s AAA bond rating, $750 million operating budget, $50 million annual capital budget and the county’s $966 million debt program.

Luppino is a professor and a mentor at Rutgers University for the New Jersey Municipal & County Finance Officer Program and serves on the Fort Lee board of adjustment. He is a former elected board of education trustee and former president of the Englewood Cliffs board of education.
