Levin Management inks Sakura Teriyaki lease at Jersey City retail property

A lease commitment by quick service restaurant Sakura Teriyaki has secured a new dining option for Twin City Shopping Center in Jersey City. Levin Management Corp. serves as exclusive leasing and managing agent for the 95,000-square-foot, grocery-anchored retail property, located at the intersection of Garfield Avenue/Broadway and 53rd Street.

LMC’s E.J. Moawad, senior leasing representative, negotiated the transaction on behalf of the property’s ownership.

The new, 1,950-square-foot restaurant will mark the second location for business operator Michael Li, who also owns Sakura Teriyaki in Belleville. The concept’s menu includes its popular teriyaki dishes along with bento boxes, poke bowls and sushi. Patrons will be able to dine in or take out from the new Jersey City location.

“Offering generous portions of quality food prepared fresh and fast, Sakura Teriyaki is a healthy alternative to fast food,” Li said. “We use fresh ingredients that create mouthwatering flavors in all our dishes, and we are excited to be expanding into Hudson County at Twin City Shopping Center. We look forward to introducing Sakura Teriyaki to those who live and work in the community.”

Sakura Teriyaki will join Taco Bell, Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen, Wendy’s and Dunkin’ at Twin City Shopping Center.

“This concept brings something new and different to the property’s restaurant lineup,” Moawad noted. “It’s a great fit for this property and the neighborhood.”

Twin City Shopping Center’s tenant mix also includes Aqui Market, Retro Fitness, Catch Air, Everything $.99, Apple Nail Salon and T-Mobile, along with a variety of neighborhood conveniences. Notably, the center sits just off Exit 14A of the New Jersey Turnpike and is easily reached by a network of local thoroughfares. The center serves a growing residential population of nearly 35,000 people within a one-mile radius, and approximately 19,000 vehicles pass the property each day.
