Regional banks and credit unions play a pivotal role in the financial fabric of communities nationwide. Unlike their larger counterparts, these institutions are deeply rooted in local economies, understanding the unique needs of the people they serve.

To that end, nine regional banks among 250 regional banks in the U.S. have been recognized as one of America’s Best Regional Banks 2024 by Newsweek and Plant-A Insights Group.

Newsweek based the list on a study of nearly 10,000 financial institutions, more than 35,000 customer interviews and almost 150 million online reviews. Institutions were rated based on their operational performance, health and stability and customer experience.

Valley Bank, based in Jersey City, said this is its second year in a row that it has been awarded with the recognition.

“We’re honored to be named one of the best regional banks by Newsweek for the second year in a row,” Valley President Tom Iadanza said. “This recognition is a testament to our people who work tirelessly to fulfill our vision of becoming one of the premier relationship-based regional banks in the country.”
