It’s not a simple answer.
It starts by following the business world, which we do, 365 days a year. Key figures in key stories always are noted. And, with a staff that has been covering business in this state for decades, we feel we already know a lot of the power players.
But we don’t know everyone. That’s why we check in with key figures in the business world.
ROI-NJ will consult with dozens of insiders each year, getting a sense of whom they feel are influential players in their sector — and across the state.
We’ll take nominations, too. If you feel strongly about someone who hasn’t been selected previously, we invite you to send us a pitch on why they should be. We’ll then take those names and check with our insiders to see if they check out.
To be clear, this isn’t a popularity contest. And it isn’t about working for the biggest companies or having the biggest titles.
Influence comes in a lot of forms. Having an impact in a specific sector or community — an impact that isn’t measured in dollars and cents — is important, too.
