AT&T’s Hispanic Employee Group now taking scholarship applications

HACEMOS, AT&T’s Hispanic Employee Group, is now accepting applications for its 2024-25 HACEMOS Scholarship Program.

The program, which helps Hispanic/Latino students pursuing a college degree, offers scholarships of $1,500 for two-year college students and $2,500 for four-year college students. The scholarships are open to all students.

Last year, the program awarded more than 100 scholarships nationally, including three to New Jersey high school students.

Scholarship recipients are considered for their academic excellence, leadership and community involvement. The deadline to apply for the scholarship is April 13.

Financial need will be considered, but it is not the defining criteria. To apply, students must:

  • Be of Hispanic heritage and age 25 and under as of the application deadline;
  • Be currently enrolled or plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university in the U.S. for the 2024-25 academic year;
  • Have a cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent).

Among other requirements, students will need to create a 3- to 5-minute video essay discussing their educational journey, experiences and how the scholarship will contribute to their goals.

The HACEMOS Scholarship Program is made possible through fundraising initiatives by AT&T employees and community partners. The program has awarded more than $4 million in scholarships since 1998.
