Eight N.J. companies involved in the health care space recently were recently honored by Newsweek for being great workplaces for diversity.
The honor was presented by Newsweek, which worked with a market data research firm, Plant-A Insights Group, to present this list of companies that are truly dedicated to fostering a strong, diverse workforce in rhetoric and in practice.
Companies were honored in numerous sectors in two size categories: large (5,000+ employees) and midsize (1,000-5,000 employees).
Here are the New Jersey honorees in health care-related sectors:

Justin Drew, a vice president of marketing, strategy and patient experience with CarePoint Health, said the honor shows the hospital’s commitment to the community it serves.
“CarePoint Health’s commitment to a diverse workplace is part of its dedication to serving our local communities in Hudson County and the surrounding areas,” he said. “Workplaces should represent the populations they serve. and CarePoint Health has taken that philosophy to heart.
“With a large multicultural patient population, mostly based in Hudson County, the health-system prioritizes the celebration of the many different backgrounds that their employees and patients represent.”
CarePoint CEO Dr. Achintya Moulick said the honor speaks to employees — and future employees — too.
“With the job market becoming ever more competitive and prospective employees valuing companies’ commitment to diversity, being able to attract and retain a diverse workforce gives us a competitive advantage over other health care systems,” he said.
“Our employees mirror the makeup of the patient population that we serve, and that not only helps us foster a more inclusive workplace environment, but also makes our patients feel more comfortable and welcome.”
It is the second year of the award.
