North Plainfield retail firm Levin Management inks martial arts business at Commack, N.Y., center

Martial arts studio Champions Martial Arts has opened a new location at Mayfair Shopping Center in Commack, New York, according to a Thursday announcement from North Plainfield-based Levin Management Corp., the exclusive leasing and managing agent for the 222,000-square-foot Jericho Turnpike retail destination.

The latest lease commitment extends an active period for the property, where PGA Tour Superstore and beauty brand Sephora have recently opened their doors.

LMC Senior Leasing Representative E.J. Moawad arranged the 1,320-square-foot Champions Martial Arts lease on behalf of Mayfair Shopping Center’s ownership; Christopher Wierzbicki of Pliskin Realty & Development represented the tenant.

Champions Martial Arts’ franchised locations offer classes for children, teenagers and adults. Taekwondo and kickboxing programs are designed to build confidence, self-discipline, focus and strength in students of all ages and abilities.

“Champions Martial Arts is a well-established martial arts studio with an outstanding reputation, and it’s a great fit for the Commack community,” Moawad said. “This newest tenant also complements the retail experience at Mayfair Shopping Center, which offers something for everyone, from kids to adults. This drives significant, repeat traffic — an advantage for the property’s entire tenant base.”

Mayfair Shopping Center’s latest additions join an enviable lineup of retailers, restaurants and service providers that includes top-ranked grocer Lidl, Planet Fitness, JBBQ & Shabu Shabu (recently opened), Loft, Jos. A. Bank, Sherwin Williams, Meet Izakaya Ramen & Bar, Prato 850, Mimi’s Coffee & Bubble Tea (coming soon), Bagel Toasterie, Northwell Go Health, Verizon Wireless, GameStop, Music & Arts, Original Brooklyn Pizza, D’Ore Jewelers, the Crushed Olive and Tropical Smoothie, among others.
