Jeffrey Robinson, who currently serves as provost and executive vice chancellor at Rutgers University – Newark, was officially approved to become the interim chancellor, effective July 1.

The move, which was first announced in October, was approved by the Rutgers University board of governors earlier this week.

Robinson will succeed longtime Chancellor Nancy Cantor, who recently announced she was leaving to become president of Hunter College in New York.

Robinson, who joined the faculty of the Rutgers Business School in 2008, serves as the Prudential Chair at Rutgers Business School – Newark and New Brunswick. He has long championed urban development, entrepreneurship, sustainability and inclusive innovation and technology as the keys to social change.
