N.J. Small Business Development Center honors NJ Bankers with Valor Award

The New Jersey Small Business Development Centers’ Small Business & Lenders Gala this week honored the New Jersey Bankers Association with the Valor Award for its work supporting veterans’ education throughout the state.

“NJ Bankers and the New Jersey banking community have been strong supporters of veterans’ education programs for more than 20 years. Having the opportunity to give something back to those individuals who were willing to give so much more in defense of our country is, frankly, the least we can do. While we’re honored to receive this recognition, it’s our veterans who exemplify true valor every day,” Mike Affuso, CEO and president of NJ Bankers, said.

Over the past year, Cranford-based NJ Bankers has collaborated with NJSBDC to fund veterans’ scholarships for a mini-MBA in digital marketing program and a Project Management Certification program, both offered by Rutgers Business School. NJBankers provided scholarships for 14 New Jersey veterans during the past year.
