Avalon Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Hamilton has named Dr. Robert Laurente, as its new medical director. The appointment coincides with a repositioning and rebranding at the 180-bed skilled nursing facility located at 1059 Edinburg Road.
Laurente is affiliated with Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton and St. Joseph’s University Medical Center. Board certified in internal medicine, he possesses more than a decade of medical expertise.
“Avalon is fortunate to have Dr. Laurente serve in this key leadership role as it embarks on its next chapter,” Erin Popelak, regional director of market development at Marquis Health Consulting Services, which supports the facility, said.
Avalon Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, formerly Hamilton Continuing Care, provides post-hospital care, short-term rehab and long-term residential care. The center will leverage Marquis’ existing relationships with leading regional health care systems and providers to develop specialty initiatives aimed at meeting area health care demand.
