Jefferson Health awards $225K in grants to help fund employee ideas to improve health care

Honors are part of ‘Giving Tank’ presentation at annual gala, which raised more than $400K

Jefferson Health recently awarded more than $225,000 in grants to its own employees — those who were judged to have provided the best ideas to improve care — at the organization’s 2024 New Jersey gala.

The top winner received $100,000 for a design in anoscopy equipment and training, which is used to provide at-risk patients with more options for cancer screenings. Four additional winners were awarded grants between $25,000 and $50,000.

The contest was referred to as the 2024 Giving Tank, a play on the popular TV show, “Shark Tank.”

Funding for the grants came from the Jefferson Health Foundation of New Jersey.

The gala, which took place at the Borgata Hotel, Casino & Spa in Atlantic City in late February, raised over $400,000 to support Jefferson Health’s programs and services. It was attended by over 400 people.

Primary care physicians Matthew Gettings and Eric Kaminetsky also were honored at the event, with the title of “Healthcare Heroes.” Both serve as senior medical directors of clinical operations at Jefferson Medical Group in New Jersey.
