Valley Medical Group announced it recently opened the Valley Center for LGBTQ+ Care in Paramus, which will provide comprehensive health care services for the LGBTQ+ community in an inviting and safe space.
Valley also recently welcomed Dr. Raffaele Bernardo, medical director of LGBTQ+ Services for Valley Medical Group, who will oversee operations of the center and see patients as a primary care physician.
In addition to primary care services, the center, located at 95 Route 17 S., Suite 105, will offer HIV prevention services and treatment; transgender care, including gender-affirming hormone therapy; gynecologic services; sexual health services; referrals to fertility services; and more. Should a patient require a visit with a specialist, staff at the center will refer them to an LGBTQ+-affirming Valley specialist. All members of the center’s staff have received both cultural and sensitivity training to provide LGBTQ+ care.
“We are here to provide members of the LGBTQ+ community the comprehensive health care they deserve in a safe and affirming space,” Bernardo said. “We want to eliminate health care disparities, optimize access to care and improve health care outcomes within the community by providing a place where patients can receive the care they need under one roof, with referrals to allied health professionals, if needed.”
