Law firm Jackson Lewis P.C. recently announced that three principals have joined its Berkeley Heights office. Dina Mastellone, John Petrella and Douglas Solomon join the firm from Genova Burns.

Mastellone was previously the chair of Genova Burns’ Human Resources Counseling and Compliance Group. She counsels businesses on employment matters of all kinds and establishing and auditing human resources policies, handbooks and procedures. Mastellone has experience training businesses and human resources organizations on matters involving anti-harassment and diversity policy compliance, best human resources practices, hiring, documentation, discipline, termination and managing accommodations and leaves of absence in accordance with local, state and federal employment laws. She earned her J.D. from Touro University Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center and her B.A. from Providence College.
Petrella was previously the chair of Genova Burns’ Employment Law and Litigation Group. He is an experienced labor, employment and commercial litigator at both the trial and appellate level. Petrella concentrates his practice on representing management in all areas of labor and employment-related matters. He has litigated and tried numerous state and federal high-stakes multiplaintiff cases involving all categories of discrimination, hostile work environment, restrictive covenants, theft of trade secrets, breach of employment contract, whistleblower, employment-related torts and retaliation claims among others. He earned his J.D. from Boston University School of Law and his B.A. from the State University of New York at Geneseo.
Solomon previously served as chair of the Genova Burn’s OSHA Group, regularly counseling clients on health and safety issues under the Occupational Safety & Health Act. He focuses his practice on traditional labor law on behalf of management clients in both the private and public sectors. Solomon’s labor law experience spans a wide variety of industries, including transportation, construction, entertainment, law enforcement, hospitals, retail, restaurants, charter schools and service industries. His transportation industry experience includes an expertise in representing clients under the Railway Labor Act. Solomon earned his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law and his B.A. from Brandeis University.
