Executive Women of New Jersey on Wednesday announced it is now accepting applications for the 2024 Graduate Merit Award Program. These scholarships, awarded annually, target remarkable women who are nontraditional graduate students pursuing advanced degrees.

Since 2015, EWNJ has distributed over $1.4 million in tuition assistance to nearly 350 women attending New Jersey colleges and universities through its Graduate Merit Award Program.

“The core mission of EWNJ is to empower women in propelling their careers towards executive positions and corporate boardrooms, in part by creating a pipeline of diverse women leaders trained and educated to take on these leadership roles,” Courtney McCormick, president of EWNJ and senior vice president of audit, enterprise risk & compliance at Public Service Enterprise Group, said. “We believe an advanced degree can help to equip women with the essential tools to achieve their goals. Our aim is to ease the financial strain of tuition fees, eliminating yet another barrier on their journey to success. We are excited to meet this year’s applicants.”

EWNJ defines “nontraditional” as a student who returns to her studies several years after receiving an undergraduate degree; a student who may have completed her undergraduate degree later in life; a student who changed careers and is returning to school to retool her career; or a student who comes from a nontraditional educational or socioeconomic background.

“The Graduate Merit Award Program offers exceptional women the opportunity to be supported and nurtured by a network of accomplished women who have walked in their shoes. We are committed to helping all women build successful careers and recognize that an advanced degree is often the first step in that journey,” Susan Dromsky-Reed, member, Brach Eichler, said.

EWNJ scholarship recipients will be announced in the fall and celebrated at EWNJ’s annual holiday party. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, May 15. For more information about EWNJ, or to apply for a scholarship, click here.
