Aaron Hajart has been named chief operating officer of Community Medical Center in Toms River, officials at RWJBarnabas Health announced.
Hajart has experience within the RWJBarnabas Health system, serving as the Southern Region senior vice president for service line and practice integration. In this position, Hajart supported the operation and integration of RWJBarnabas Health’s six Southern Region hospitals and the collaboration with Rutgers University to develop the system’s faculty practice in the Southern Region.
Hajart led initiatives reducing long-term admissions by 85% and cut unnecessary patient days by 14,000 per year. He most recently collaborated with the leadership at Rutgers and RWJBarnabas Health to lead the development of the first joint Graduate Medical Education Strategic Plan, focused on growing the graduate medical education footprint of the health system.
Patrick Ahearn, CEO of Community Medical Center, applauded the announcement.
“As Aaron begins his journey at CMC, I am excited to work with him as we continue to execute and drive our strategic and operational plan,” he said. “As a member of our leadership team, he will ensure our alignment with enterprise objectives while also addressing the needs of the residents of Ocean County. Aaron comes to us at an exciting time of change and growth, and I look forward to his insight and leadership as we continue to transform CMC.”
Prior to joining the health system, Hajart spent five years at Bergen New Bridge Medical Center in Paramus, where he served as chief operating officer.
