Calling all runners, walkers and rollers: The 11th annual Greta’s Run for Imagine will be held May 19 in Westfield.
Proceeds from the official USATF 5K will benefit Imagine, A Center for Coping with Loss, located in Mountainside and Newark.
The race begins at 9 a.m., followed by a 200-yard Kids Fun Run dash for children 10 years old and younger.
New events this year include the dove release, followed by a free concert by Southpaw.
Greta’s Run began 11 years ago when a group of Greta Schoenemann’s friends decided to honor her memory with a 5K community race. She had died on Sept. 15, 2002, due to injuries sustained when a branch fell on a group of students as they were eating lunch outside of Westfield High School.
