Ocean Power Technologies, the maritime solutions company based in Monroe Township, announced Tuesday that it has received the largest order in its history in terms of quantity.
A customer in the offshore energy service industry in the Latin American region has placed purchase orders for multiple WAM-V vessels, with the investment totaling more than $1.5 million.
“We are thrilled to see the growing interest and confidence in our technologies, particularly from our strategic partners in Latin America,” CEO and President Philipp Stratmann said in a prepared statement. “This order marks a pivotal moment for OPT, highlighting our continued commitment to delivering unparalleled solutions to the region that redefine possibilities in marine robotics.”
OPT’s WAM-Vs are noted for their cutting-edge technology and versatility. They will be deployed in hydrographic applications, the company said.
