Holy Name in Teaneck recently announced the addition of North Jersey Orthopaedic Specialists to its growing roster of health care providers. The practice has been providing high-quality, personalized surgical care to patients in Bergen County for more than six decades.
“The expansion of Holy Name’s orthopedic offerings represent a significant advancement in enhancing accessibility and quality for patients in the region,” Dennis Pfisterer, chief of orthopedic surgery at Holy Name, said. “Together, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive, best-in-class, and patient-centered orthopedic services.”
The new orthopedic specialists joining Holy Name include:
General orthopedic surgery
- Dr. John Owens, a board-certified and fellowship-trained surgeon who specializes in adult reconstruction of the hip and knee, as well as general orthopedics.
Shoulder, hip, knee surgery and sports medicine
- Dr. Jonathan Archer, a board-certified and fellowship-trained surgeon who specializes in arthroscopic surgery of the knee and shoulder, arthritis and joint replacement as well as general orthopedics. His area of expertise extends to cartilage injuries, anterior cruciate ligament ruptures, and rotator cuff injuries. He is currently the school/team physician for New Milford public schools.
- Dr. Jake Zarah, a board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in the arthroscopic and open treatment of disorders of the shoulder, hip and knee. His expertise includes total shoulder replacement and minimal invasive total hip and knee replacement. He is currently the school team physician for Cresskill High School.
- Dr. Rehan Shamim, a board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon with specialized training in the most advanced techniques in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine. He is currently the school/team physician for Tenafly and Bogota public schools.
Spine surgery
- Dr. Teja Karukonda, a board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in spine surgery. He treats a variety of spinal disorders involving the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine. He is experienced in performing minimally invasive spinal procedures as well as robotic spine surgery. He is currently the school/team physician for Palisade Park and Leonia public schools.
Hand/upper extremity surgery
- Dr. Jen Lee, a board-certified and fellowship-trained hand and upper extremity surgeon. He is experienced in performing complex hand and wrist procedures as well as elbow and shoulder surgery. He is currently the school/team physician for Fort Lee public schools.
Foot and ankle surgery
- Dr. Nicholas Bevilacqua, a board-certified and fellowship-trained foot and ankle surgeon. He is also board-certified in foot surgery and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. Bevilacqua has served as the committee member and faculty member for the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
