Fast casual restaurant Chipotle Mexican Grill recently celebrated its grand opening at 240 Grand Ave. in North Brunswick, bringing another quality fast-casual dining option to Short Hills-based Garden Commercial’s MainStreet NB.
Chipotle’s new, 2,600-square-foot restaurant, located at 2300 Route 1, features the chain’s popular “Chipotlane,” a digital order-ahead pickup window that increases access and convenience for guests.
“We are so pleased to welcome Chipotle to MainStreet NB,” Michael Gartenberg, director of Garden Commercial, said. “This high-quality tenant is a terrific traffic driver and one that expands and diversifies this project’s dining options. Chipotle is a great fit both for this property and the neighborhood.”
Gartenberg served as in-house representative for the Chipotle lease; the tenant was represented by Glenn Beyer of Newmark.
The Chipotle opening follows another fast-casual dining addition at MainStreet NB. Burger chain Shake Shack launched a new 3,500-square-foot restaurant with double drive-thru at the property in January. Anchored by Costco and Target, MainStreet NB’s retail component also features Panera Bread and the Greene Turtle Sports Bar and Grill.
MainStreet NB is located on the 212-acre former Johnson & Johnson North Brunswick campus. The development also includes a proposed New Jersey Transit rail station, a Courtyard by Marriott hotel and office space. Its residential component includes 242 luxury rental apartments and duplexes currently under construction by Garden Communities, an affiliate of Garden Commercial, as well as 158 for-sale townhomes developed by Pulte Homes.
