JLL partners to establish WBE alliance with OPEN Impact Real Estate

JLL on Monday announced it established a strategic alliance with OPEN Impact Real Estate, a Women Business Enterprise-certified brokerage. OPEN Impact will be JLL’s exclusive WBE partner in the tri-state region and a national affiliate of JLL.

OPEN Impact Real Estate, established in 2021 by Lindsay Ornstein and Stephen Powers, has quickly emerged as one of the leading nonprofit and mission-driven commercial real estate brokerage firms in the country. The firm specializes in corporate real estate transactions and nonprofit, government and higher education opportunities, entities committed to working with leading Minority- and Women-owned Business Enterprises.

Ornstein and Powers have a deep track record in the commercial real estate market, having worked as longtime partners at Transwestern, where Ornstein co-founded the Northeast region in 2011 before forming OPEN Impact Real Estate. Ornstein began her real estate career with the Staubach Co. Powers has devoted his entire 20-year real estate career to assisting nonprofits in executing real estate transactions.

“We are excited to welcome OPEN to the JLL team,” Peter Riguardi, JLL chairman and president, New York Region, said. “This is a true differentiator for us. Joining forces not only enhances our corporate service offerings, but the partnership with OPEN amplifies our nonprofit practice headed by David Carlos. This alliance also reaffirms our commitment to nurturing inclusive growth and empowering women in leadership positions within the commercial real estate industry.”

The affiliation not only elevates the presence of women-led businesses in commercial real estate, but provides Fortune 500 companies with a premier full-service option that aligns with modern values of diversity and excellence.

“We are thrilled to become a JLL partner and to embrace the company’s extraordinary platform,” Ornstein said. “Together, we will set new benchmarks for what it means to lead with integrity and impact in the real estate sector. We believe this partnership will strengthen both companies, expanding our work in key industries and adding a new perspective to hosts of transactions here in New York City and around the country.”
