Bell Works New Jersey cuts ribbon at grand opening of brand new Bell Theater

Bell Works in Holmdel now has a theater to serve as the property’s new home for cultural and arts programming, including professional theater, dance concerts and films. The Bell Theater officially celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting at the former Bell Labs campus on Wednesday.

“Over the past two years, we have been preparing to open Bell Theater — Central Jersey’s newest home for arts and culture,” Andrew DePrisco, executive artistic director of Bell Theater, said. “We’ll be presenting comedy nights, jazz nights, rock ‘n’ roll, new and old musicals, plays, dances and family entertainment with weekly programming. We’re very excited about the prospects of bringing more theater and music to Monmouth County here at Bell Works and hope to see you soon.”

“When we set out to develop Bell Works, I wanted it to be a place for business and community to thrive, where people get together and inspire each other,” Ralph Zucker, founder and CEO of Inspired by Somerset Development, said. “Nothing says that we’ve succeeded in doing so more than the opening of Bell Theater. The theater is breathing new arts and cultural life into Bell Works already and is now part of the beating heart and soul of what we stand for.”

Shows kicked off May 3 with nationally and internationally recognized artists and New Jersey locals.

The development of the Bell Theater was made possible by a generous donation from Sheldon and Anne Vogel — who are known for their commitment to growing artistic programming throughout New Jersey. Additionally, this realization of Bell Theater has been accomplished through financial assistance from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts in cooperation with and administered by the New Jersey Historic Trust.

Inspired by Somerset Development, the visionary development firm behind some of the nation’s most innovative adaptive reuse developments, recently celebrated its 10th anniversary of the Holmdel metroburb.
