Hundreds of customers lined up outside the new ShopRite of Hadley Commons on Wednesday for a ribbon-cutting and grand opening of the supermarket in South Plainfield.
Located at 6781 Hadley Road, the supermarket hired an additional 200 full- and part-time employees ahead of the store’s opening. The new store replaced the ShopRite of Piscataway at 1306 Centennial Ave.
Members of the Saker family, which owns and operates the state-of-the-art store, greeted customers, and the first 200 people received special grocery gift bags filled with product samples and coupons. The day’s celebration also included in-store samplings and outdoor food trucks and a grill station.
