Journal Square Urby to begin leasing its 317 units in June

Journal Square Urby, the 25-story, 317-unit residential tower located across from the Journal Square PATH Station in Jersey City, will begin leasing in June, officials announced Monday.

The building located at the corner of Pavonia and Summit avenues presents not only 317 brand new apartments and innovative social areas — but includes a lush rooftop garden with grills, a dog park and a heated pool with the most spectacular views in Jersey City. It also boasts a huge state-of-the-art gym, yoga studio and flexible work-from-home spaces tailored to today’s dynamic work-life balance.

David Barry, Urby‘s founder and CEO, said the latest Urby, the seventh to open nationwide and second in Jersey City, arrives amid Journal Square’s vibrant renaissance. A surge of new residential, retail, cultural and culinary offerings has transformed the neighborhood into one of the region’s most dynamic destinations. Just minutes from New York City via the PATH train, this transportation hub embodies the intersection of connectivity and community vitality.

“We’re thrilled to announce the upcoming leasing launch for the latest expansion of the Urby brand,” he said. “This boutique residential building will seamlessly integrate into the fabric of the culturally rich and well-connected Journal Square neighborhood while providing residents with modern living spaces and engaging social environments.”

Journal Square Urby will feature a range of brand new, beautifully designed residences, including studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, alongside shared spaces like a public café integrated into the lobby, a state-of-the-art fitness center with an adjoining yoga studio and captivating indoor and outdoor spaces. The roof garden, work-from-home space and many of the apartments provide panoramic views spanning Downtown Jersey City, the Manhattan skyline, the Statue of Liberty and the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge.

Designed by Concrete, the award-winning Dutch design firm renowned for citizenM Hotels worldwide, with HLW serving as executive architect, Journal Square Urby embodies a design ethos that harmonizes with the neighborhood’s streetscape while presenting a visually captivating tower characterized by three distinct masses.

To infuse an artistic flourish into the urban landscape, Urby has commissioned a striking mural on the south side of the building by contemporary Argentinian-Spanish artist Felipe Pantone, whose kinetic work explores dynamism, transformation, digital revolution and themes related to the present times. Composed of bold geometric patterns, gradients, vibrant colors and extending all 25 stories of Journal Square Urby, the mural is Pantone’s largest artwork to date.
