10 banks earn Community Service Award from N.J. Bankers Association

Banks in New Jersey serve their communities in a variety of ways beyond financial assistance.

Ten recently were recognized by the New Jersey Bankers Association with a Community Service Award for their efforts in charitable endeavors and volunteer programs — efforts that included more than $14 million in charitable contributions and 27,000 volunteer hours.

NJ Bankers CEO Michael Affuso commended the groups for their continued dedication to improving their communities.

“New Jersey banks have a longstanding history of volunteerism, community service and charitable giving,” he said. “We are proud of the efforts of our banks and their employees to better the communities where they live and work.”

The following banks were recognized:

  • Blue Foundry Bank;
  • Columbia Bank;
  • First Bank;
  • Kearny Bank;
  • Lakeland Bank;
  • Lusitania Savings Bank;
  • Northfield Bank;
  • Peapack-Gladstone Bank;
  • Provident Bank;
  • Valley Bank.
