Rockefeller Group commences construction on 2-building, 1.1M sq. ft. distribution center in Carneys Point

Rockefeller Group said Wednesday that construction has commenced on Rockefeller Group Logistics Center at Carneys Point. The project includes two buildings totaling more than 1.126 million square feet: a 596,443-square-foot building (Building A) and a 530,000-square-foot building (Building B).

The project is the company’s second industrial project in South Jersey, following 2022’s development and sale of Rockefeller Group Logistics Center Eastampton.

“We have been actively pursuing sites within South Jersey,” Heath Abramsohn, regional director for Rockefeller Group’s New Jersey/Pennslyvania Region, said. “South Jersey represents an important industrial market for companies looking to distribute goods through the greater mid-Atlantic and Northeast. The site provides easy access to the Port of New York and New Jersey, the Port of Philadelphia as well as the Port of Wilmington and the Port of Baltimore.”

Rockefeller Group Logistics Center at Carneys Point is located on Forrest Lane and Route 40, 2.7 miles off Exit 4 of Interstate 295 and 3.5 miles from Exit 1 of the New Jersey Turnpike. The project has access to a substantial labor pool from South Jersey, Southeastern Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland. The two buildings include 40-foot clear heights, 50-by-54-foot column spacing, 658 auto parking spaces and 328 trailer parking stalls.

Both buildings will be delivered in early 2025.

Rockefeller Group assembled the 141-acre project from 13 separate parcels and 11 individual sellers closing on the site in 2022. The project includes extensive infrastructure improvements that will benefit the region.

Rockefeller Group was represented by broker Ryan Curran of Curran Commercial on the purchase and assemblage of the project.

The CBRE team of Drew Green, Thomas F. Monahan, Larry Schiffenhaus and Brian Golden are representing Rockefeller Group on the leasing of the project.

The buildings were designed by M + H Architects with civil engineering provided by Langan Engineering & Environmental Services. The general contractor is FCL Builders.
