Kearny Bank donates $735,500 during 2023 — raising 5-year total to $3.6M

The Kearny Bank Foundation donated a total of $735,500 to various charities in 2023 — increasing its five-year giving total to more than $3.6 million, the bank reported this week.

In 2023, the largest single donation was to Junior Achievement of New Jersey, which received $140,000.

Other top gifts included:

  • Meadowlands YMCA: $30,000;
  • Habitat for Humanity of Morris County: $25,000;
  • Fairleigh Dickinson University: $25,000
  • Historical Society of Ocean Grove: $20,000;
  • National Council for Jewish Women: $18,000.

“We take great pleasure and pride in supporting a range of programs that help communities in which we conduct business,” Kearny Bank CEO Craig Montanaro said. “In fact, since our founding 140 years ago, we’ve been committed to charitable giving. These most recent donations continue our longstanding tradition of trying to make people’s lives better.”

The KearnyBank Foundation divides its giving into five distinct categories: education, community, quality of life, housing and scholarships.

Earlier this month, Kearny Bank was among a number of financial institutions recognized by the New Jersey Bankers Association with a 2024 Community Service Award for community outreach and positive societal impact.
