Citizens names O’Connell NYC Metro president

Rebecca O’Connell has been named NYC Metro president, Citizens announced this week.

O’Connell, who has been working in the market, will oversee northern & central New Jersey, New York City and Long Island.

Steve Woods, head of corporate banking, applauded the announcement.

“Rebecca is committed to helping our clients achieve their goals,” he said. “I am confident that Rebecca’s leadership and proven track record of success will continue to serve the team well as we make smart investments in our business, technology and people, to position our company for future success and growth in the NYC Metro market.”

With more than 25 years of experience as a banking executive and senior management consultant, O’Connell will continue to lead an expert team of middle market bankers, deepen broader client relationships and accelerate growth in the region.

O’Connell, on a LinkedIn post, said she is grateful for the opportunity.

“I am honored to represent Citizens and to lead our broader expansion efforts in our fastest growing market,” she wrote.
