Grant wins prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award from NABIP-NJ

Staci Grant, vice president at Henry O. Baker Insurance Group, recently was honored as the 2024 recipient of the Louis G. Mattei Lifetime Achievement Award, the most prestigious annual award handed out by the National Association of Benefits and Insurance Professionals – New Jersey chapter.

Grant, of Morris Plains, was presented with the award at the NABIP-NJ Annual Conference, held earlier this month in Atlantic City, attracting 500 attendees. She was flanked by previous Lou Mattei winners over the years who honored her ongoing service, sacrifice and dedication to the state’s health benefits trade association.

Headquartered in Cranford, the National Association of Benefits and Insurance Professionals – New Jersey chapter represents licensed health insurance agents, brokers, consultants and benefit professionals in New Jersey who service the health insurance needs of large and small employers, as well as individuals.

Grant, state deputy legislative chair and a longtime leader of the association, is known for identifying new ways and opportunities to network, learn, collaborate and, most importantly, ensure that health insurance brokers have the tools and resources to provide affordable and accessible health insurance to New Jerseyans.

She is actively involved in NABIP-NJ’s legislative efforts in Trenton, spearheading important conversations with Department of Banking & Insurance Commissioner Justin Zimmerman as well as serving vocal member of the New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute.

In accepting the surprise award in front of her colleagues across New Jersey, Grant said she was honored to be part of such a prestigious group that has helped mold NABIP-NJ into a well-known voice of the health insurance industry.

Other honorees:

  • Sandy Gibson: The CEO of Karing is Mutual, in Union Township, she was given the Board of Directors Award. Gibson,a longtime association member, was honored for her continuous service and leadership. She began her insurance career at Prudential Healthcare and moved to AmeriHealth in 2000, where she served for more than 15 years.
  • Dom Fanuele: He was the recipient of the 2024 NABIP-NJ President’s Award, which is given to the NABIP-NJ member who has shown extreme dedication and commitment to the organization. Fanuele, of Caldwell, has spent several decades in the industry and has been a proud member of NABIP-NJ for the past two decades. Most recently, he served as membership chair of NABIP, as well as president of the North Jersey Chapter. Fanuele is owner of Fanuele Financial Group in Fairfield.
