NJIT revamps master’s program in power and energy systems

New Jersey Institute of Technology recently announced that it has revamped its Master’s in Power and Energy Systems program, adapting it to changing needs in the industry.

The degree now has three specialized tracks:

  1. Power system track: Includes courses such as power systems steady state analysis, transients in power systems and protection of power systems;
  2. Wind power track: Includes courses such as wind power transmission and grid interconnection, HVDC design, operation and maintenance and power system dynamics;3️
  3. Smart grid track: Includes courses such as power grid modernization, power electronics, intelligent sensing for smart grid and smart city.

The school also is offering a wind power graduate certificate.

The courses are generously supported by the New Jersey Economic Development Authority and by industry leaders such as Public Service Enterprise Group.
