The benefits of vocational, magnet and specialty training at the high school was readily apparent in the U.S. News & World Report list of top high schools in the country, as each of Top 10 schools in the state fits that description.
The list, released this week, reviewed approximately 25,000 schools nationwide, ranking 406 schools from New Jersey.
A look at the Top 10, eight of which ranked in the Top 100 nationally:
- High Technology (Lincroft, Monmouth): No. 24 nationally;
- Edison Academy Magnet School (Edison, Middlesex): No. 42 nationally;
- Middlesex County Academy for Allied Health (Woodbridge, Middlesex): No 58 nationally;
- Bergen County Academies (Hackensack, Bergen): No. 62 nationally;
- Biotechnology High (Freehold, Monmouth): No. 72 nationally;
- McNair High (Jersey City, Hudson): No. 79 nationally;
- Bergen County Tech (Teterboro, Bergen): No. 90 nationally;
- Union County Magnet (Scotch Plains, Union): No. 95 nationally;
- Academy for Information Technology (Scotch Plains, Union): No. 111 nationally;
- Academy for Allied Health Sciences (Scotch Plains, Union): No 193 nationally;
