Willow Springs Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center recently introduced Journeys Memory Care, a person-centered, comprehensive memory care neighborhood model. Board-certified geriatrician Dr. Mark Pass is overseeing the new program at the Brick skilled nursing facility.
The Journeys Memory Care model was developed by Marquis Health Consulting Services, which supports Willow Springs. Designed by memory care experts, the program features a standardized approach to care delivery, practice and management.
Willow Springs met the new care model’s rigorous set of standards and criteria, which includes benchmarks for the physical plant, evidence-based care delivery, caregiver experience and education, stage-specific life enrichment programming and dining, among others. With Journeys, Willow Springs is taking its secure memory care neighborhood to the next level, according to Marquis’ Kate Bauer, regional director of market development.
Under Pass’ leadership, Willow Springs’ Journeys program supports residents’ physical, emotional, cognitive and social needs, enabling them to maintain the highest level of function and independence in a safe and secure environment. A dedicated team is trained and educated to communicate through validation, showing understanding, compassion and support as they join residents through the journey of each day.
Pass is board certified in geriatric medicine, palliative care and internal medicine. He possesses more than 20 years of medical experience and is affiliated with Jersey Shore University Medical Center.
