TCNJ offers admission opportunities to students from 2 area schools that recently closed

In an effort to be assistive and proactive to students in a time of need, The College of New Jersey announced this week that it is offering admission opportunities for former students of University of the Arts in Philadelphia and Delaware College of Art and Design in Wilmington — both of which suddenly closed recently.

The Ewing-based university hopes to provide immediate assistance to displaced students and allow them an opportunity to finish their degree on time.

The application deadline to apply to TCNJ has been extended to July 1 for University of the Arts and Delaware College of Art and Design students. In addition, TCNJ will waive the application fee and review transcripts immediately to determine eligibility of transfer credits.

Officials within TCNJ’s School of the Arts and Communication said they seek to service students with high-quality and accredited arts, design and music programs.

The School of the Arts and Communication offers programs in the following studies:

  • Fine arts;
  • Photo and video;
  • Graphic design;
  • Digital filmmaking and television;
  • Music;
  • Interactive multimedia (including game design, animation, music technology and digital fabrication);
  • Art and music education.
