Maureen Hemhauser of Peapack-Gladstone Bank received the prestigious Woman of Impact Award from the Cranford-based New Jersey Bankers Association during the association’s annual Women in Banking Conference on June 5.
Hemhauser, a resident of Avon-by-the-Sea, is the executive vice president, chief risk officer and head of compliance at Peapack-Gladstone Bank, responsible for administering the financial institution’s Enterprise Risk Management Program and for overseeing the bank’s Regulatory Compliance, Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC and Anti-Money Laundering programs.
In her nomination, Hemhauser was described as an incredible leader who runs her division with grace, fairness and authenticity, and possesses self-awareness, which makes her an incredible role model for her team and colleagues.
“After more than 30 years in the New Jersey banking industry as a female examiner, consultant and banker, I am so honored and humbled to receive this award,” Hemhauser said. “I have been so inspired by the many woman coworkers and mentors I have encountered throughout my journey and have always prioritized the well-being and development of women and men coworkers and staff.”
Prior to joining Peapack-Gladstone Bank in 2015, Hemhauser served as a senior compliance manager at FIS Global for established and de novo financial institutions throughout New Jersey and New York. In addition, Hemhauser previously served at the FDIC as a financial institution examiner and supervisory review examiner in the FDIC’s New York Regional Office, where she was responsible for the management of bank regulatory and CRA examination caseloads of over 90 financial institutions in New Jersey, Delaware, New York, Pennsylvania and Puerto Rico.
