The second and final phase of Hackensack’s largest residential redevelopment is now complete, with the Second Edition of Print House open for leasing as residents begin to move into the newly available units.
Print House, developed in a partnership between Russo Development and the Hampshire Cos., sits on the former headquarters of the (Bergen) Record along the banks of the Hackensack River. The first phase of Print House was fully leased in under four months and phase two is already on pace to match or exceed that — with phase one occupied and eager prospects actively applying for the building’s phase two apartment homes.
Phase two’s addition of 425 luxury homes brings the expansive campus total to 696 units — with the Second Edition adding an additional 150,000 square feet of amenity space that includes soon-to-be-open courtyards, an amphitheater and outdoor seating along the riverfront.
The Second Edition’s amenities include a riverfront pool as a private retreat for residents, outdoor lounge areas and a standalone two-story resident clubhouse, filled with entertainment, lounge and work-from-home spaces. Print House residents will have access to both phase’s diversified amenity offerings.
“Adding the final residential component to Print House is a major milestone for us and our partners at Hampshire. Print House is exceeding all expectations in Hackensack and provides our residents a community with our large campus, unique apartment styles and incredible amenity offerings, plus the added convenience of our food and service retail tenants,” Adam Pasternack from Russo Development said. “We are very appreciative of the city of Hackensack’s partnership and collaboration to see this project through with us to deliver this multifaceted mixed use residential offering. We are also thrilled to give our residents and the local community the convenience of dynamic on-site retail, including the new addition of Lidl, coming in 2025.”
Phase two availability includes one- and two-bedroom floorplans ranging from 703-1,198 square feet. Residents also enjoy access to private parking, a rooftop terrace made for relaxation and soaking in views of New York City, an on-site concierge and a plentiful lineup of curated resident events and activations monthly.
“For over 100 years, Hackensack has played a central role in our family’s story,” James Hanson II, CEO and president of the Hampshire Cos., said. “This latest milestone brings us closer to realizing our full vision for a city that is so near and dear to our family and business. We thank our project partners for their continued collaboration, and we look forward to welcoming our future residents to the Second Edition.”
Print House is located directly across the street from New Jersey Transit’s Hackensack Bus Terminal, offering express 30-minute service to New York City. Russo Development has a strong focus on transit-oriented developments, making commuting easy and convenient for its residents.
With Print House Second Edition now open for leasing — the creation of community-focused open-air amenities surrounding the buildings, including a public park and river walk that will be completed in the near future — will mark the final step in Print House’s development. Russo and the Hampshire Cos. are dedicated to not only creating an unparalleled development, but the thoughtful beautification of a campus that both residents and members of the public can enjoy.
