Thomas Garlick (counsel) and Robert Lyons (associate) have joined Murphy Schiller & Wilkes, the Newark-based boutique firm that services the commercial real estate and construction industries announced Monday.
Garlick will focus his practice in the area of real estate development. He will represent clients throughout New Jersey with land use, zoning and redevelopment projects. He also will advise clients in connection with obtaining property tax exemptions, including Payment in Lieu of Taxes agreements and tax credits under the New Jersey Economic Development Authority’s Aspire Tax Credit Program.
Lyons will work in the firm’s Construction Law and Litigation practice groups. In this role, he will represent developers, owners, contractors, subcontractors, construction managers, architects, engineers and surveyors across a wide array of matters in the commercial real estate and construction industries. These matters include contract disputes, delay claims, defective construction claims, design negligence and shareholder disputes in both state and federal courts.
“We are incredibly excited to have Tom and Robert join our growing team,” Founding Partner Chris Murphy said. “They both bring significant experience to their respective practice groups, and fully understand our commitment to providing exceptional legal services to our diverse array of clients.”
