Special perks for military families, from counseling to free museums

Businesses supporting the military

A look at some of the businesses that are offering special deals for those connected to military service:

Dillon Marcus has been donating weekly professional counseling services and training for the volunteers at Sean’s Room since October 2023. Led by coach and facilitator Donna Sand, the counsellors are trained in a method called “Spot-It,” which is a cognitive behavioral therapy for managing anxiety and stress. Sean’s Room is a peer-led mental health program that offers round-the-clock support to anyone affiliated with Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst — active-duty, veteran or civilian.

Blue Star Museums offers free admission to more than 2,000 museums across the nation from now through Labor Day for active-duty military, including the National Guard and Reserves. The program is a collaboration of Blue Star Families, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Department of Defense and the participating museums.
