Kearny Financial Corp. names chief operating officer and chief financial officer

Kearny Financial Corp. on Thursday announced that Keith Suchodolski was elevated to senior executive vice president and chief operating officer, effective July 1. Concurrently, Sean Byrnes has been promoted to executive vice president and chief financial officer.

Suchodolski has held progressive leadership roles within the Fairfield-based financial institution since 2013, most recently serving as chief financial officer since July 2018.

In his new role, Suchodolski’s range of responsibilities will broaden to include strategic oversight of retail & business banking, human resources, marketing, corporate finance and corporate administration.

“Keith is an accomplished leader with a track record of success throughout his time with the company. His knowledge and experience will play a critical role in shaping and implementing the company’s strategic vision in the years ahead,” Craig Montanaro, CEO and president, said.

Byrnes, a Certified Public Accountant and CFA charter holder, joined the bank in September 2020 as chief accounting officer and currently holds the position of deputy chief financial officer. In his new role as the company’s senior financial leader, Byrnes will be responsible for all aspects of corporate finance and will partner with the company’s senior leadership team to execute on the company’s short- and long-term strategic goals.
