Eugenia Smith will oversee patient care and growing nursing department for top southern New Jersey addiction recovery center

Recovery Centers of America at Lighthouse, a Mays Landing-based drug and alcohol addiction treatment facility serving communities throughout southern New Jersey and the Jersey Shore, on Monday announced it hired Eugenia “Gina” Smith as its new director of nursing. Smith will be responsible for directing, planning and coordinating the day-to day activities and education of more than 40 nurses and two medical assistants, ensuring regulatory compliance and high-quality clinical care.

“Gina Smith has amassed a wealth of experience and skill at top behavioral health care facilities in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, making her the ideal person to lead our dedicated nursing team,” Michael Amador, RCA at Lighthouse CEO, said. “Her commitment to superior standards of excellence aligns with our mission to provide our patients with the best possible care on their journey to recovery.”

With more than 25 years of experience in the behavioral health and addiction medicine nursing field, Smith joins RCA from Edison Job Corps, where she served as health and wellness director. Previously, she held director of nursing roles at Sunrise Detox Centers, Pyramid Healthcare and New Horizons Treatment Services.

“I am grateful to join the community here at RCA at Lighthouse, where the top substance-use disorder professionals come to deliver compassionate care to our patients,” Smith said. “I hope to create a culture of empathy, dignity and compassion though my new role, supporting and empowering the RCA nursing department toward continued excellence.”
