Affinity Federal Credit Union golf outing raises over $200K

Affinity Federal Credit Union recently hosted its annual President’s Invitational Golf Outing, raising over $200,000 for the Affinity Foundation. The event, held June 10, had 116 golfers joined by additional guests and 57 sponsors.

The foundation made mention in a release how grateful it was to all its sponsors and recognized the top ones of the event, including: Allied Solutions, Fiserv, Vericast, Visa Inc., New York Red Bulls and Greenwood Products. The support from sponsors is integral to the foundation’s ability to provide Affinity members and communities with solutions to improve financial wellbeing, enable self-sufficiency and end the cycle of poverty.

“We are humbled by the generosity of our partners and sponsors, many of whom return each year to support the work of the foundation,” Kelly Watts executive director of Affinity Foundation, said. “The continued need for programs like our community grants and Member Relief Fund demonstrates there is more work to be done to help our local communities thrive and to help our members achieve financial wellbeing. We are making an impact and continue to advance the mission of the Foundation.”

The foundation provides multiyear and annual grants to mission-driven community nonprofits, awards academic scholarships and provides real-time member relief grants to Affinity members in financial need. T

“We are grateful for the work of the foundation, especially in difficult economic times when our members are feeling the stress of inflation and potentially taking advantage of community resources that the foundation supports,” Kevin Brauer, CEO and president of Affinity, said. “We are proud to serve and support the community through the work of the Foundation.”

The event concluded with first prize awarded to the Fiserv team; second place given to Schenck Price, Smith & King LLP; and third place went to Olden Lane.
