Cushman & Wakefield said Wednesday that it arranged the sale of the TPC Jasna Polana Golf Club in Princeton. Located at 4519 Province Line Road, the 18-hole private golf course and iconic clubhouse encompass 222 acres in the heart of Princeton.
Cushman & Wakefield’s Matt Davis, Andy Merin, Gary Gabriel, David Bernhaut, Ryan Dowd and Jean-Pierre Hohl represented the seller, the Piasecka Johnson Estate, and procured the buyer, Concert Golf Partners.
“With its rich history and status as a community staple in Princeton, the Jasna Polana Golf Club garnered significant interest, an exceptional 20 offers, despite current capital market conditions,” Merin said. “We conducted a thorough sales process that resulted in a strong response from a variety of investors, reflecting the unique value and appeal of this property. Our team is well equipped to manage the sale of specialty assets, as this marks the fifth golf course our local capital markets team has successfully sold in recent years, in addition to the more than a dozen sales by our wider specialty team across the country, underscoring our capability and dedication to delivering exceptional results for our clients.”
Jasna Polana, a Polish phrase generally translating to “bright meadow,” is a private club and mansion constructed as a residence in 1975 by architect Wallace Harrison. The regulation-length private golf course is complemented by a 46,000-square-foot clubhouse that provides members and guests with first-class amenities.
“Jasna Polana boasts an immense history, from its ties to the Piasecka Johnson family to its role in professional golf as a past host of the PGA Tour Champions and the classic Wonderful World of Golf match between Tom Watson and Hal Sutton,” Jordan Peace, senior vice president of corporate development at Concert Golf, said. “We are extremely selective about the clubs we add to our portfolio, and we are honored to be the new stewards of this world-class club. Our mission is to preserve and enhance great private clubs, while honoring their culture and traditions in new and exciting ways.”
The modern, multilevel clubhouse includes a travertine room, dining facilities, an oak room, a wine cellar and locker rooms. The upper level features a 2,500-square-foot one-bedroom suite with a library, private wet room, marble jacuzzi and sauna. The property also benefits from on-site pro shops, a gated entrance with a fountain, an outdoor patio, a tennis court, event space and a garden with a reflecting pool. Additionally, the property is improved by a practice putting green, a driving range, a short game practice area, private parking and two private lodges that offer 16 bedrooms for overnight accommodations.
Designed by legendary architect Gary Player, the course features meticulously manicured fairways, challenging greens and picturesque landscapes, providing members an exclusive and high-quality golfing experience.
