Theory Wellness on Thursday celebrated the grand opening of its Trenton dispensary for adult-use cannabis sales with a $10,000 check presentation to the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen.
The dispensary is located at 461 New York Ave.
Representatives from TASK were on hand to receive the funds at an event that included remarks from Brandon Pollock, CEO of Theory Wellness, Trenton Mayor Reed Gusciora and Councilwoman Crystal Feliciano.
Situated conveniently off Route 1 with ample parking, Theory Wellness was the first cannabis dispensary to open in Trenton and has already established a strong community presence through its medical sales. Through its expansion to recreational sales, Theory aims to provide customers with a wide range of quality cannabis products at the most affordable rates in the state.
“The Trenton Area Soup Kitchen plays a vital role in our community, providing essential services to those in need,” Theory CEO Brandon Pollock said. “By donating to TASK and supporting their mobile food kitchen, we hope to make a meaningful impact on food insecurity in the Trenton area. We believe in giving back to the community that supports us, and this donation is a step towards ensuring that everyone has access to nutritious meals.”
TASK’s mobile meal program, launched in March, currently serves more than 800 meals per week at four sites throughout Trenton. In addition, TASK serves over 10,000 meals, six days a week, at its soup kitchen in Trenton’s North Ward and at 35 community meal sites across Mercer County and lower Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
Theory Wellness will also be collecting shelf-stable canned goods donations from customers from Friday to Sunday of the opening weekend. Each item donated will be worth $2 in credit, with customers able to receive up to $10 in credit towards their purchase opening weekend.
