Forvis Mazars, one of the largest accounting and auditing firms in the U.S., donated $25,000 to the Meadowlands Area YMCA’s annual campaign to support programs and aid to the surrounding community in North New Jersey.
The gift will support the Meadowlands Y’s dedicated outreach in fighting food insecurity, school lunch and education programs, and health enrichment initiatives across the region.
Meadowlands Area YMCA CEO David Kisselback applauded the announcement.
“Our mission at the Y is centered on helping those in need,” he said. “This generous donation from Forvis Mazars guarantees that we can continue that mission and further solidifies that commitment to our neighbors here in North Jersey.”
To date, the Meadowlands YMCA has supplied over 8.6 million pounds of food across all programs with 1,700 individuals registered with its newly established food pantry, also including over 200 children served dinner and snacks daily during the school year. In all, the Y has steadily delivered meals to an estimated 120,000 families in the North Jersey Region.
Forvis Mazars partner Michael Coletti said the firm was thrilled to help. “You can’t help but notice the significant impact the Meadowlands Y has had on the local community here in New Jersey,” he said. “It is an honor for us to present this gift to the Y so they can continue their mission that has helped so many members of the community.”
The $25,000 donation is a part of the Meadowlands YMCA’s Annual Campaign. The campaign is conducted every year for the purpose of raising money to assist in making a difference in the community by providing scholarships and subsidies for programs and community outreach.
