South Jersey Gas, through Mark Cuban Foundation, brings AI Bootcamp to Atlantic City teens

South Jersey Gas, in partnership with the Mark Cuban Foundation, is offering an artificial intelligence camp, free of charge, to high school students in Atlantic City.

These AI bootcamps are introductory and accessible to students in grades 9-12 with an interest in technology. Students do not need any familiarity with computer science or programming to attend. Over the course of three half-days, students will learn what AI is and isn’t, where they already interact with AI in their own lives and the ethical implications of AI systems, among other topics.

Students also learn how to utilize ChatGPT via tailored inputs and use Microsoft’s cloud computing tools to build their own AI applications.

Applications for the bootcamp are now here.

This year’s bootcamp will take place at South Jersey Gas’ Atlantic City office on Nov. 2, 9 and 16. South Jersey Gas, a subsidiary of South Jersey Industries, is one of more than two dozen companies to host camps across the U.S.

“We’re excited to work with the Mark Cuban Foundation to provide this STEM-related program to our students,” Barbara Romano, SJI’s information technology and chief information officer, said. “This program is another example of our commitment to developing future leaders in the communities we serve.”
