Columbia Bank has expanded into Camden, announcing the grand opening of its newest branch at 1 Market St. in the city.
The branch will offer a full suite of consumer and business banking solutions, Columbia Bank said in a news release.
“Columbia Bank has historically invested in branches, because we know that communities appreciate a physical presence,” Thomas Kemly, CEO and president of Columbia Bank, said in a prepared statement. “Our teams are actively engaged in the community, and we believe this branch will only enhance our impact.
“To date, we have partnered with local nonprofits to fund affordable housing initiatives, neighborhood reinvestment and economic development plans. We look forward to the continued partnership and are proud to deliver nationally recognized customer service and a community bank you can count on in Camden.”
Camden Mayor Vic Carstarphen and other officials participated in last week’s formal ribbon-cutting.
As part of Columbia Bank’s community support efforts, it is hosting its “Banking for a Cause” program at the location. For every new checking or savings account opened, $10 will be donated to one of the following charities of the customer’s choice:
- Camden County Historical Society
- Heart of Camden
- Hopeworks
- Latin American Economic Development Association
On Oct. 31, the donations will be tallied, and Columbia Bank will provide an additional $2,500 to the charity with the most donations, $1,000 to the runner-up and $500 to the remaining two.
