It’s time to play “Hook-e” at the 8th annual Fishing Day for Veterans, Disabled Children and Active-Duty Military.
The fun takes place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 24 at Lake Julianna on the Ponderosa Estate Farms in Millstone Township.
Attendees will enjoy a day of catch-and-release fishing, followed by a free barbecue, courtesy of Vito Cardinale, founder and president of Cardinale Enterprises, and his staff of volunteers. The barbecue will include hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza and soft drinks.
Disabled veterans and children with mobility challenges will have use of 4×4 transportation around the lake, along with fishing assistance if needed.
Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing Jersey Shore Chapter will assist with fly fishing instruction and New Jersey Fish and Wildlife Department will bring loaner rods and reels.
Admission is free but preregistration at Eventbrite is required.
